Harrelson Hall

This project was presented to my studio by the Dean of Sciences at NC State who wished to replace Harrelson Hall with a new innovative STEM building. The objective was to provide new teaching classrooms, flex laboratories, faculty offices, and common spaces to promote positive interactions between faculty, students, and staff. For my design I chose to also address the lack of outdoor seating on campus by providing a large open air staircase doubling as a hangout space/work space. Being located in the center of the brickyard, and the heart of campus, allowed for the random student to student or student to faculty interactions desired by the Dean of Sciences.
